presenters: Susan Coates, Ph.D., and Adrienne Harris, Ph.D.
discussant: Ellen Rees, M.D.
This panel will consider the complex ways that trauma and loss interact and the importance of the context in which trauma and losses occur. Vignettes from two mother-child pairs will be presented to illustrate how the maintenance of reflective functioning in one mother and its loss in the other not only affected their children but also affected each mothers capacity to recover after September 11th.
