Professor Roth, the Director of the Hanse Neurobiological Research Center in Germany will present an ongoing research project on neurobiological changes developing in the course of the psychoanalytic treatment of depressed patients. In this context, he will review contemporary biologic theory and findings in this field and explore further methods of integrating psychoanalytic and neurobiological research.
Educational objectives:
1. The participants will be educated regarding neurophysiologic imaging of the brains of patients with certain forms of depression.
2. After attending this program, the participant will be familiarized with measurable neurophysiologic changes that can occur in depressed patients who undergo psychoanalysis
